A DoorKing entrance has two ways to fail, and DeSoto adds a third. The entry panel can lose its directory or dial-out, the operator can wear, and the shale under the drive can crack the slab and disturb the vehicle loops cut into it. A loop detector fault caused by a cracked or stepping driveway is a real possibility here, and it presents as a gate that will not close or will not open for exit traffic.
