All-O-Matic Gate Repair in Dallas, TX

All-O-Matic gate repair in Dallas tends to start with an older operator nobody has opened in years. These units are simple and heavily built, so the fault is usually one part, not the whole machine.

What we see on All-O-Matic gates in Dallas

A lot of All-O-Matic operators in Dallas were installed on wrought iron estate gates in the northern neighborhoods and on commercial slides near the core, and many have outlived the company that put them in. Their mechanical simplicity is why they last, but it also means the failures are mechanical: a limit nut or cam that slips so the gate stops short, a clutch or torque limiter that lets the motor spin while the gate stalls, and chains and sprockets stretched by apartment traffic. Clay-soil post movement adds load, and a reversing device set too sensitive for a heavy leaf will make a healthy operator stop and back off for no visible reason.

Before anyone quotes a new operator, the SL-150, SW-300 or SW-350 should be opened up. A clutch adjustment, a limit reset, a new chain or a control board relay is the typical answer. Newer DC models such as the SL-90DC PRO and SW-375DC PRO are just as serviceable. We work on these from Kessler Park and Oak Cliff up to Lake Highlands, on driveway gates and yard gates alike.

All-O-Matic gate repair in Dallas: questions

Why does my All-O-Matic gate in Dallas stall halfway on hot days?

Heat and a binding gate together load the operator. On many All-O-Matic units a clutch or torque limiter is meant to slip under excess load, and if it is worn or set loose, the motor runs while the gate stops. In Dallas clay a shifted post can create that extra load. We adjust or replace the clutch and check the hinge and post so the slip does not come back.

Is it worth repairing an old All-O-Matic SW-300 rather than replacing it?

In most cases, yes. The SW-300 is a heavily built swing operator with few moving parts, and its common faults are limit, clutch, chain and relay problems that cost far less than a new unit. Replacement only wins if the gearbox is worn through or the gate has grown heavier than the operator can handle, which we check before recommending anything.
