What we see on FAAC gates in Frisco

FAAC hydraulic arms such as the 402 and 422 are suited to large ornamental gates like those on the custom homes in Starwood and Newman Village, where a smooth, controlled swing matters. Frisco equipment is newer than most of the metroplex, so the hydraulics themselves are often healthy. What tends to wear is the gate: rollers, hinges and alignment on big leaves, which push a hydraulic operator toward its pressure limit and show up as slow or partial travel.

We check the gate swings freely by hand, then test fluid level, seals, release valve and pump pressure, then the board and the encoder or limit settings. A FAAC that drifts open usually needs seals or a valve service, not a new operator. On a FAAC 844 slide unit at a community entrance, cycle count matters, so we look at wear parts and the gate rollers too. Replacement is only for a damaged ram or housing.

FAAC gate repair in Frisco: questions

Why does my FAAC gate in Frisco open slowly even though it is fairly new?

On a newer install the hydraulics are often fine and the gate is the problem. A large ornamental leaf with a tight hinge or slight misalignment needs more pressure to move, and the operator slows to match. We check the gate by hand first, then test pressure and fluid. Fixing the hinge can restore normal speed without touching the hydraulics.

Do you carry FAAC seal kits and boards?

We carry seal kits, hydraulic fluid and the common control boards, including the 455 D used on hydraulic swing units. Less common parts may need ordering, and if so we tell you upfront rather than discovering it on the day. Most FAAC hydraulic repairs, meaning seals, fluid and pressure, are done on site.
